Wendy Holt, who died in 2025, was born in Southampton, and attended Portsmouth College of Art where she studied printmaking and etching. She later received a postgraduate diploma in printmaking from Wimbledon School of Art. She was clearly drawn to printmaking, and her etchings are highly accomplished in technique with intricate details and beautiful tones. Holt went on to teach art in various schools and colleges around Southampton and exhibited her work worldwide during this time. This etching was exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, year unknown.
