Wendy Holt, who died in 2025, was born in Southampton, and attended Portsmouth College of Art where she studied printmaking and etching. She later received a postgraduate diploma in printmaking from Wimbledon School of Art. She was clearly drawn to printmaking, and her etchings are highly accomplished in technique with intricate details and beautiful tones. Holt went on to teach art in various schools and colleges around Southampton and exhibited her work worldwide during this time.
Mottisfont is in Hampshire, home to Mottisfont Abbey which is set in beautiful gardens by the River Test.
