WRITHING ASH

Paul Newman works exclusively in graphite, producing carefully observed drawings in incredibly fine detail.  He is deeply interested in the landscape and part of his process is walking and returning to places repeatedly in order to understand them better, often his work is focused on a very specific area.  He is particularly drawn to trees and is a member of the Arborealist group of artists, set up in 2013.
